Job summary

California School Employees Association Labor Relations Representative position in Yuba City, CA. This home-office role reports to the Field Director in the Sacramento Field Office in Citrus Heights, CA, with travel and frequent nights and weekend hours.

The LRR recruits, trains and develops members, leads, organizes, and mobilizes members for political action, and is their strongest advocate. A strong communications and leadership background is essential to serving California’s education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a subject that still excites you.
• Experience with negotiations, advocacy or dispute resolution is a strong plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to gain trust and confidence of members.
• Be organized and able to manage resources, data and time.

Responsibilities

• Recruits and trains members.
• Negotiates contracts.
• Provides leadership to rank-and-file negotiators and committees in collective bargaining.
• Represents members in hearings.
• Identifies and develops member leaders, chapter officers and stewards.
• Influences members and staff.
