Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Headquarters in New York seeks a Labor Attorney to join the Labor Relations team. You will represent the Authority at administrative labor hearings and arbitrations, advise on contract interpretation, disciplinary matters, and policy development, and support negotiations and policy enforcement.

Required JD and NYS Bar admission, at least 3 years in labor relations, strong research and advocacy skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school and NYS Bar Admission.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor Relations after bar admission.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to present cases.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Authority at administrative labor hearings and arbitrations.
  • Advise on contract interpretation, disciplinary matters, and policy development.
  • Investigate disputes, interview witnesses, and develop litigation strategies.
  • Prepare legal memoranda and briefs; support negotiations and policy enforcement.
  • Train and advise Labor Relations staff; ensure consistent application of agreements.
