Job summary

Amplify Tutoring is seeking remote, part-time Virtual Tutors to provide small-group tutoring for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade during the 2026-2027 School Year.

This role requires residence within Maryland and travel to Annapolis for fingerprinting. Tutors will be paid as W2 employees via a third-party staffing agency, with compensation for tutoring sessions, lesson preparation, and training. Training includes state/federal background checks and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Comfortable and highly skilled with technology.
• Available a minimum of 90 minutes a day, 3 days a week (M-F) at consistent times during the school day between 8am-4pm ET (ex. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00-11:30).
• Have access to a personal laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone (Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smart phones cannot be used for this role).
• Enjoys working with Kindergarten-Eighth Grade students.
• Interested in teaching lessons using Amplify curriculum.
• Willing to accept and implement ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Interested in participating in professional development and learning opportunities to help students meet their goals.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering tutoring lessons are the foundation of our work.
• Tutoring sessions are delivered using our structured research-based curriculum.
• Tutors are compensated for both planning and delivering their tutoring sessions.
• Tutors are initially hired and trained to conduct literacy-based lessons.
• Once they have demonstrated their success, tutors may have the opportunity to obtain additional endorsements in math tutoring, literacy tutoring, administering literacy assessments, and other special projects.
