Weekday AI is seeking a Junior Transactional Attorney for a remote, part-time contract role. You will draft, review, and redline commercial agreements and contribute to AI training programs by evaluating machine-generated contract responses.

Ideal for early-career lawyers with 1–3 years of transactional experience who can work independently while coordinating with product and research teams to improve AI-driven contract review workflows.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in transactional legal work at a law firm or in-house legal team.
• Foundational experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with MSAs, NDAs, and other commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of contractual provisions, risk allocation, and negotiation principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with ability to explain legal reasoning and provide actionable feedback.
• Interest in legal technology, AI, and applying AI to transactional workflows.

Responsibilities

• Contract Drafting and Redlining: perform simulated contract negotiations, review language, and identify risks.
• AI Response Evaluation: review AI-generated contract responses for accuracy and practicality.
• Legal Quality Assessment: apply evaluation frameworks and rubrics to assess AI performance on transactional tasks.
• Risk Identification: identify contractual risks and unfavorable terms with clear recommendations.
• Feedback and Documentation: provide structured feedback to improve AI models' understanding of contract language and negotiation strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with product, engineering, and research teams to refine datasets and guidelines.
• Consistency and Quality Control: ensure evaluations are objective and align with legal standards.
