Simera seeks a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records in a remote-capable role based in San Francisco. You will process transactions, assist with AP/AR, prepare invoices and reports, and work with the team to ensure proper classification and timely closing.

The ideal candidate has solid accounting knowledge, strong numerical skills, and a proactive attitude toward process improvements.

Qualifications

Solid foundation in basic accounting principles and processes.
Experience with daily financial transactions and reconciliations.
Familiarity with month-end closing tasks.

Responsibilities

Record and process daily financial transactions accurately.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Prepare, review, and process invoices, expenses, payments, and receipts.
Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper classification.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as required.
Monitor outstanding invoices, payments, and account balances.
Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records and transactions.
Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Assist with audits by gathering and organizing financial documentation.
