Job summary

BizFirst LLC is recruiting a Mid-Level Java Full-Stack / API Developer for federal civilian programs. The role is fully remote aligned to East Coast hours with quarterly travel, working with CBP, DHS, or DOS programs.

You will build cloud-native enterprise apps using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, relational databases, and modern front-end tech, including JMS/Kafka messaging, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and API portals. U.S. citizenship required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java with Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem.
• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices using OpenAPI/Swagger.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise apps, microservices, and backend services with Java/Spring Boot.
• Build data-access components with Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, and JDBC.
• Design and implement secure RESTful APIs using an API-first approach and OpenAPI definitions.
• Apply API versioning, error handling, authentication, authorization, and observability.
