Job summary

SoftPathTechnologies is seeking an experienced Java Backend Lead to guide design, development, and maintenance of scalable Java-based backend services in a fully remote setting. You will own technical leadership, drive architecture decisions, and mentor engineers across Agile teams.

The role requires 8+ years in Java backend, proficiency with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Kafka messaging, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Java backend experience
• Demonstrated technical leadership or lead engineer experience
• Remote work eligibility and strong stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based backend applications and services.
• Drive technical architecture, code reviews, standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
• Lead sprint planning, estimation, risk mitigation, and delivery tracking.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and support production issues.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to delivery planning
