Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is offering an IT Security Vulnerability, Risk, and Compliance Analyst Internship. You will collaborate with leaders to leverage tools and processes to defend applications, systems, and networks.

The internship focuses on learning and contributing to security controls, risk assessments, and incident response while supporting enterprise-wide IT initiatives at Church headquarters in Riverton, Utah.

Qualifications

• Enrolled or within one year of graduation in Cyber Security or Computer Science.
• Temple-worthy Church member is required for employment.
• Knowledge of information security practices, OS/network basics, Cloud security, privacy and GRC.
• Technology background is desired.
• Knowledge of risk, compliance and vulnerability assessment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Document and implement controls and practices for risk and compliance.
• Assist in discovery and investigation under incident responders.
• Review logs to identify irregularities for escalation.
• Assist investigation and analysis of audit recommendations.
• Clarify and document problems for remediation.
• Assess IT infrastructure risks and suggest improvements.
• Support implementation of security programs and controls.
• Help coordinate vulnerability scans across the environment.
• Validate vulnerability results and eliminate false positives.
• Report vulnerabilities to application engineers.
