Axios Media Inc. is seeking an IT Security Specialist to protect our systems, devices, identities, and workflows across the company. You will embed security into technology decisions from procurement to operation, and you will own security for Mac devices and identity management.

We value practical AI security and security awareness programs, with training for newsroom and business teams. Starting salary ranges from $85,000 to $105,000, with remote-optional work and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in IT security, endpoint security, IAM, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with macOS and endpoint management.
• Experience with security logging, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Own security for Axios Mac fleet (Jamf, compliance, monitoring, malware response).
• Own Okta-based IAM (adaptive MFA, SSO, app assignments, access scopes).
• Improve provisioning, offboarding, and lifecycle automation with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain security configurations and risk controls for core services and SaaS apps.
• Assess systems and workflows for security and long-term supportability.
• Protect high-risk users (journalists, executives) with privacy and data protections.
• Develop security awareness programs and training, including phishing simulations.
