Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an IT Security Consultant to lead enterprise IAM and identity governance efforts. You will guide the design, integration, and operation of an enterprise IGA platform, ensuring strong life‑cycle management, compliance, and access governance across the organization.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on IAM experience, automated provisioning, federation tech, and governance processes, with the ability to work mostly remotely and coordinate with on‑site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus four years of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.
• Experience with IAM, governance, and security operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in enterprise Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) initiatives.
• Support selection, integration, and administration of a new IGA platform.
• Ensure compliance, life-cycle management, and access governance across the organization.
• Develop and enforce strong governance processes and provisioning workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor security staff.
• Address security incidents and maintain documentation.
