Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Procurement Associate to procure IT hardware and software, fabricated parts, machinery, and services for government and civilian programs. You will source, negotiate, and purchase items, issue purchase orders, and monitor supplier performance from a remote position across the US.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), US citizenship, strong communication, and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with procurement and material ordering processes
• Excellent time management skills
• Solid communications skills, both written and oral
• Ability to communicate across several levels of staff and customers/vendors
• Strong team player
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Exhibit critical thinking and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare RFQs/Proposals (RFQ/P) and bid packages per prime contract requirements
• Issue and maintain purchase orders for goods supporting SAIC’s customers (DOD, Federal or Civilian Agencies)
• Compile and analyze data to determine feasibility of buying products and establish price objectives
• Monitor supplier performance
• Track price trends and manufacturing processes
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure lowest cost while ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Review proposals and negotiate terms to align with end-user requirements and procurement policies
• Coordinate with requester, legal, cyber security to mitigate risk
• Closeout procurement activities and manage supplier relationships
• Suggest improvements to procurement processes and procedures
• Solve routine problems per established policies
