Job summary

Devonshire is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to support internal platforms with a split role between DevOps and sysadmin duties. You will configure Databricks, manage cloud resources with Terraform/Terragrunt, and support AWS EKS environments while enforcing security and cost controls.

You will collaborate with staff across departments, document processes, and promote best practices for deployments, code reviews, and platform lifecycle. Remote role with proximity requirements to major cities.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience in network, system, or application support (non-helpdesk).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to ramp quickly across systems.
• Strong understanding of user management, security concepts, RBAC and least-privilege.
• Thorough understanding of cross-platform authentication (OIDC, SAML, OAuth).
• Experience designing and troubleshooting networks across regions and cloud providers (VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS).
• Strong sysadmin skills in Linux and Windows.
• Exposure to software development and deployment patterns.
• AWS experience including networking, S3, RDS, IAM.
• Ability to write clear documentation and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Configure and administer Databricks platform; enforce security policies and cost optimization.
• Manage and support select third-party apps used by staff (ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub, Aha!, Airflow, Linear).
• Use and maintain Terraform modules and Terragrunt to provision cloud resources.
• Support AWS EKS application platforms; troubleshoot and optimize for security and cost.
• Establish and enforce best practices for CI, automated code reviews, deployments, and application lifecycle.
