Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago seeks an IT Category Manager to lead software, hardware, cloud, telecom, data, and IT services sourcing within the TDS team. You will craft buying strategies, run RFPs and negotiations, manage contracts, and monitor supplier performance to deliver savings and risk mitigation across the technology stack.

This role requires 7+ years in IT procurement, strong analytics, and the ability to influence senior leaders in a global, matrixed organization; travel is limited

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance or related field.
• 7+ years of IT category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of IT buying categories including software, SaaS, hardware, cloud, telecom, data, and services.
• Knowledge of contracting, data privacy, information security, and supplier risk.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with source-to-pay or contract management tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for a global matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Build buying strategies for software, hardware, cloud, telecom, data, professional services, and other tech spend.
• Lead RFPs, RFQs, renewals, and negotiations from start to finish.
• Manage supplier selection, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Spot and reduce risks like cybersecurity, data privacy, licensing, and third-party risk.
• Deliver measurable savings and value while aligning with policy and business priorities.
• Coach and mentor junior team members on procurement processes.
