BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer (Istio) to design, deploy and manage service mesh infrastructure for complex microservices, ensuring robust security and observability across distributed systems.

You will implement Istio configurations, tune Envoy proxies, enforce mTLS and access controls, and collaborate with DevOps and development teams to deliver reliable, scalable services in a 100% remote environment.

Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience.
Proven track record designing and deploying Istio service mesh architectures.
Advanced skills configuring Envoy proxies for traffic management.
Strong understanding of mTLS and service-mesh security.
Hands-on experience with observability tooling for monitoring, logging and tracing.
Proficient English communication in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy Istio service mesh architectures for complex microservice communications.
Configure and optimize Envoy proxies for L4/L7 traffic management and load balancing.
Implement security policies including mutual TLS and authentication across the mesh.
Establish comprehensive observability using Istio telemetry for monitoring, logging and tracing.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate services into the mesh with high performance and reliability.
Automate service mesh lifecycle management and configuration updates for system stability.
