Job summary

Joint Strategic Technologies (JST) seeks an ISSO/Security Documentation Lead to guide security controls, risk management and documentation for a system handling personal data on thousands annually. This fully remote, full-time role is a 3-month engagement with potential extension, offering a strong benefits package and collaborative culture.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and certifications such as CISSP or CGRC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• CISSP or CGRC, which satisfies the DoD 8140 Information Assurance Management Level II baseline. Security Plus CE in addition.
• DoD Risk Management Framework, eMASS, writing control implementation statements, privacy impact assessment and system of records notice process.
• Prior Air Force or Army accreditation package experience. Cloud or SaaS accreditation where controls were inherited.

Responsibilities

• Categorize the system and select security controls early enough that they influence how it is built.
• Complete ports, protocols and services registration.
• Start the privacy impact assessment and the system of records determination in the first week.
• Write control implementation statements as the work happens rather than reconstructing it later.
• Leave behind a complete set of artifact templates and a written statement of what remains.
