Department of Education Headquarters is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at GS-2210-13 to oversee IT security controls and security authorization documents, ensuring policy compliance and risk reduction.

The role requires analyzing IT security activities, reporting incidents, and ensuring system changes meet security requirements while supporting ED's mission in education programs.

Qualifications

• Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position and grade level.
• Foreign Education: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Overseeing the implementation of information technology (IT) security controls and security authorization documents to assure the system is compliant with mandated security policies and requirements.
• Providing security analysis of IT activities to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place and being enforced and remediated as needed.
• Recognizing a possible security violation and take appropriate action to report the incident and take corrective measures to rectify a cybersecurity incident.
• Continuously validating the system against policies/guidelines/procedures/regulations/laws to ensure compliance.
