Job summary

Commence is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security assessment and authorization for federal systems. The role reports to the ISSM and works with CIO, engineers, and compliance teams to ensure continuous authorization and risk management.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in information assurance, 3+ years in ISSO/A&A roles, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Remote work with travel is involved, based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information assurance or cybersecurity experience.
• 3+ years as an ISSO or A&A lead for federal information systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring work for federal systems.
• Coordinate with agency ISSOs, Authorizing Officials, assessors, and prime contractor security teams.
• Lead system-level preparation for CMS, VA, DoD, IRS assessments and evidence collection.
• Maintain SSPs, risk assessments, contingency plans, and incident response coordination.
