Job summary

LMI in the United States is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to design, implement, and validate security controls for AWS infrastructure and mission applications supporting Department of War mission partners. Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain higher clearance if required.
• 5+ years in systems security engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing and validating security controls.
• Experience securing DoD information systems and DoDIN.
• Experience with AWS IAM, VPC, encryption, logging and monitoring.
• Experience RMF, NIST SP 800-53, STIGs, vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission needs into system architectures, controls, and tests.
• Perform threat modeling, design reviews, and risk assessments.
• Engineer security controls for AWS, Linux, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Configure IAM, least privilege, network segmentation, and encryption.
• Apply STIGs and baselines; test changes for security effectiveness.
• Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and artifacts.
• Use IaC and automation to deploy repeatable controls and evidence.
• Analyze findings, apply fixes, and retest remediation.
• Develop RMF artifacts and support ATO packages and assessments.
• Coordinate remediation with ISSO/ISSM; document residual risks.
