Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to support a busy IP practice. The role covers patent matters, including preparation, docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years IP paralegal experience, with preference for pharma/life sciences patent work. The position offers remote work or placement in any office location and requires strong organization and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years intellectual property paralegal experience.
Experience with pharmaceutical, life sciences, and/or biotech patent prosecution.
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved program preferred.
Significant, substantive legal experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

Research and compile information pertaining to national and international IP rights.
Prepare status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
Coordinate international filings with foreign law offices and entities.
Collaborate with Docketing Team to ensure due dates and affidavits are properly docketed.
Assist in IP-related litigation and oppositions; draft pleadings.
Meet annual billable hour requirements and assist in various IP tasks.
