HNE is seeking an experienced attorney for its Iowa-based Default Servicing and Real Estate Litigation practice. The role entails representing lenders and financial institutions in foreclosure, evictions, creditor rights, and related real property disputes, with most work performed remotely.

Candidates must reside in Iowa and be available for occasional court appearances throughout the state. The firm offers long-term growth, flexible title based on experience, and potential leadership

Qualifications

• Active Iowa Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of attorney experience.
• Ability and willingness to attend in-person hearings throughout Iowa.
• Strong legal writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Handle foreclosure, default servicing, creditor rights, and real estate litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings throughout Iowa.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, discovery responses, and legal correspondence.
• Prepare exhibits, hearing materials, and court filings.
• Analyze loan documents, creditor rights issues, and litigation strategies.
• Provide legal guidance and strategic recommendations to lender clients.
• Communicate directly with clients, borrowers, trustees, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Manage deadlines, case progression, and compliance with statutory and client requirements.
• Stay current on legal, regulatory, and procedural developments impacting lender representation and default servicing matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across the firm to ensure efficient case management and client service.
