Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an Intake Case Manager to handle a high volume of calls regarding alleged abuse and neglect. You will interview reporters by phone, assess risk, and determine intake decisions while documenting in CAPSS.

Assigned hours are Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with opportunities for professional development and ongoing training to maintain child welfare certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work, psychology, or sociology.
• Experience in child welfare or related field preferred.
• Must be able to perform field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of intake calls from reporters of abuse/neglect.
• Conduct phone interviews and assess risk to children and vulnerable adults.
• Enter information into CAPSS and generate intake and screening decisions.
• Maintain phone coverage during scheduled hours and support counties as needed.
• Complete required training and maintain welfare certifications.
