Job summary

Branch is a remote-first insurance company redefining how finance works as we scale. The Financial Reporting Lead will collaborate across the Finance, Compliance, Legal and Insurance teams to ensure accurate, audit-ready reporting and data reliability.

You'll own statutory reporting, NAIC filings, RBC analyses, and build internal controls while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive transparency and process improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in property & casualty insurance finance or accounting, preferably with exposure to GAAP and statutory reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and insurance accounting.
• Proficiency in interpreting financial outcomes and turning data into actionable reporting.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills and a desire to contribute to team growth and shared knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Document and maintain financial processes to support accurate reporting.
• Analyze month-over-month changes and provide clear reporting to leadership with actuarial and reinsurance support.
• Collaborate with Data Office to define controls and data availability for accurate reporting.
• Develop audit-ready documentation for key financial processes and controls.
• Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements, NAIC filings, RBC analysis, and RBC forecasting tools.
• Develop an internal control testing framework for a growing audit function.
• Review cash handling processes and reconciliation procedures.
• Collaborate with Insurance and Compliance on data or regulatory requests related to state expansion or reporting.
• Contribute to special projects to improve financial transparency, data readiness, or compliance.
