Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney for a fully remote role serving clients across Texas. This is an opportunity for a seasoned litigator to handle complex insurance defense matters from inception through trial preparation while enjoying the flexibility of working from anywhere in Texas.

Ideal candidates have extensive insurance defense experience, strong writing and research skills, and an active Texas Bar license.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong background in commercial transportation, premises liability, construction defect, or related insurance defense matters.
• Active Texas Bar license.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Trial experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse caseload of insurance defense litigation matters.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in matters involving commercial transportation, premises liability, and construction defects.
• Develop case strategy and work closely with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide thoughtful, practical legal analysis.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Trial experience is a plus, but not required.
