Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking an Insurance Authorization Specialist to support our Round Rock clinic. This full-time remote role will assist the Oncology Department at 2410 Round Rock Avenue #150, Round Rock, Texas, with chemotherapy treatment authorization and patient advocacy.

The ideal candidate will review regimens, obtain pre-certifications, and coordinate with physicians and payers to ensure timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical insurance verification and authorization preferred.
• Familiarity with chemotherapy treatment pathways and payer requirements.
• Ability to communicate with clinical staff and payers to resolve authorization issues.

Responsibilities

• Review and process medical necessity for chemotherapy treatments.
• Obtain insurance approvals and pre-certifications for chemotherapy services.
• Communicate payer requirements to nursing and medical staff.
• Assist patients as a liaison between patient and payer to prevent delays.
• Research additional resources to prevent payment denials and support patient access.
