Job summary

Golden Gate University is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist & LMS Administrator to support faculty in using instructional technologies and managing Brightspace. The role blends 70% instructional technology and faculty support with 30% LMS administration, reporting to the Director of Learning Design, Assessment, and Emerging Technology.

Candidates should have 3+ years in instructional technology or LMS roles, strong communication, and Brightspace experience.

Qualifications

• At least three years of professional experience in instructional technology, LMS support or administration, or educator technology training.
• Experience directly supporting and training educators with clear communication and follow-through.
• Hands-on Brightspace experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead faculty office hours and the support inbox; help instructors use their courses and resolve instructional technology issues.
• Help faculty select, implement, test, and troubleshoot learning technologies, whether used in Brightspace or independently.
• Orient and train faculty; create guides and videos, and maintain the Faculty Success Hub and eLearning SharePoint content.
• Prepare and update course shells and instructional components; coordinate faculty materials, Edvisor.ai support, and vendor issues.
• Pilot emerging tools in sandboxes, standalone environments, or faculty test groups; document findings and adoption recommendations.
• Conduct course launch and accessibility checks; support responsible AI use, surveys, and follow-up on faculty needs.
