Job summary

Empire State University is seeking a versatile Instructional Designer to develop and revise online courses and support the use of technology to enhance learning for SUNY Empire. The role collaborates with faculty and a team of instructional designers, technologists, and librarians to apply research-driven learning design principles.

The incumbent will provide on-demand instructional technology and design consultation, training on accessibility, copyright, and OERs, and develop training materials

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Web Design and Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year experience in instructional technology or instructional design.
• Outstanding communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience in team-based, diverse environments.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with Course/Learning Management Systems; Brightspace preferred.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance and accessibility.
• Experience developing training materials and facilitating virtual training.
• Understanding of online course standards (OSCQR, Quality Matters).
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise online courses and support learning technologies.
• Provide on-demand instructional technology and design consultation to faculty.
• Create training materials and resources on accessibility, copyright, and OERs.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts, instructional technologists, librarians, and designers.
• Follow established project management processes.
