Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking an Inpatient Coding Quality Auditor to perform second level audits and real time education across inpatient services. The role focuses on adherence to IPPS, ICD-10-CM/PCS and regulatory guidelines to ensure accurate diagnoses, procedures and DRGs for proper reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years inpatient coding experience in a hospital environment.
• RHIT or CCS certification required or eligible.
• Strong knowledge of IPPS, ICD-10-CM/PCS compliance and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform second level inpatient coding quality audits and real time education.
• Translate audit findings into actionable recommendations for policy and process improvements.
• Develop focused coding education and material to address regulatory updates and at-risk areas.
• Collaborate with CDI, Quality, Compliance, Revenue Management and other departments.
