Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Inpatient Coder for a remote position that requires residency in Kentucky or Indiana. The role ensures accurate inpatient coding to support measurement of physician and hospital outcomes, with emphasis on ongoing quality improvement.

The coder will maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical coding guidelines (Coding Clinic and AHA) and documentation requirements to ensure proper diagnosis and procedure coding across inpatient cases.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience; CCS/RHIA/RHIT certification required.
• Associate degree or equivalent AHIMA credential eligible graduate.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and encoder software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality inpatient coding with continuous quality improvement when indicated.
• Code to support measurements and reporting of physician and hospital outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical coding guidelines (Coding Clinic, AHA) for diagnoses and procedures.
