Responsibilities include DRG assignments, abstracting pertinent data from inpatient records, coding all IP service lines, and meeting strict compliance guidelines in a fast-paced environment. Remote work is available for candidates in listed states.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Four years of coding experience or two years plus completion of internal coding program.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, COC, CIC, CPC-H, CPC) or must be certified within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient accounts and assign DRGs per guidelines and compliance plan.
• Code all high dollar accounts (>$100K) including interim and rehab accounts.
• Abstract pertinent information from inpatient records into the system and follow up via reports/work queues.
• Code all service lines of inpatient accounts.
• Meet quality and productivity standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency with coding/abstracting systems, 3M encoder, EMR.
