Job summary

Pyramid Consulting Healthcare is seeking a Healthcare Clinical Coding & Documentation Specialist for a 06+ months contract, remote in the United States. The role focuses on inpatient chart reviews, MS-DRG assignment, and CDI outcomes in a remote setting with travel not required.

Ideal candidates hold RN/BSN/MSN/MD or foreign medical grads, with 4+ years nursing or physician experience and 2+ years inpatient CDI experience, plus ICD-10-CM and MS-DRG knowledge; 3M CDI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• RN/BSN/MSN/MD or Foreign Medical Graduate required.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing or physician experience.
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient CDI experience.
• Experience with DRG assignment.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, MS-DRGs, SOI/ROM.
• BSN/MSN/MD or higher clinical degree.
• CCDS/CDIP/CCS/CPC/RHIA/RHIT certification.
• Experience with 3M CDI and coding applications.
• Inpatient ICU/ED/HIM/Case Management CDI experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective inpatient chart reviews.
• Review provider documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assign and validate MS-DRGs.
• Improve Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality (ROM) capture.
• Collaborate with physicians, coders, CDI, HIM, Case Management and Quality teams.
• Identify CC/MCC opportunities and documentation gaps.
• Support denial prevention and clinical validation initiatives.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while working remotely.
