Talis Group’s client is a multi-state law firm seeking a Litigation Defense Attorney for a primarily REMOTE role, though candidates must live in the Louisville, KY area. The position handles cases across Kentucky and Southern Indiana with strong emphasis on injury defense litigation.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of injury litigation experience.
• Licensed in KY or IN with ability to obtain the other.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, pleadings, research, investigations and mediation.
• Strong client and provider communication on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Handle caseload from inception to completion.
• Advise clients concerning their claims or defense of claims, legal rights and obligations.
• Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for clients.
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
• Investigate, interview and gather evidence to formulate defense.
• Prepare and draft legal documents including briefs and opinions.
• Negotiate settlements and mediations.
• Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
