Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Auditor for a fully remote role. You will audit security programs, assess compliance with ISO 27001 and NIST, and report findings to management while collaborating with IT and business units across regions.

The role emphasizes meticulous security assurance, remediation planning, and staying current with evolving threats. Some travel may be required for regional needs around Upington and international sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security auditing, IT auditing, or related security assurance roles.
• Strong knowledge of information security principles, IT controls, risk management, and common security frameworks.
• Experience with audit planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.
• Familiarity with various IT systems, networks, and applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and recommendations effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CIA, or CISM are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute information security audits according to established audit programs.
• Assess compliance with security policies, industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and document security control weaknesses and associated risks.
• Develop clear and actionable recommendations for remediation.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
• Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Stay current with evolving security threats, audit best practices, and relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external auditors.
• Participate in the development and refinement of audit methodologies and tools.
