Job summary

CorVel is seeking an Indemnity Claims Specialist to manage lower-level, non-complex indemnity claims within delegated authority under supervision. This is a remote role supporting the claims department and CorVel.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), at least 1 year of claims experience, and an active Workers’ Compensation license. Strong communication, analytical, and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience and claims management preferred.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel

Responsibilities

• Receives Workers’ Compensation claims, confirms policy coverage and acknowledgment of the claim.
• Determines validity and compensability of the claim.
• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within reserving authority limits.
• Manages non-complex lost-time workers’ compensation claims under close supervision.
• Communicates claim status with the customer, claimant and client.
• Adheres to client and carrier guidelines and participates in claims review as needed.
• Assists other claims professionals with more complex or problematic claims as necessary.
• Additional projects and duties as assigned
