Des Moines Area Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, Paralegal (Immigration Law) to teach PRL 188: Immigration Law for Spring Semester 2027. Classes run Tuesday evenings, with remote/on-line campus delivery and a 2.5 hour weekly commitment.

The role requires a JD and admission as a licensed attorney with at least two years of practice. The position emphasizes structured instruction, engagement with diverse learners, and adherence to DMACC policies.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree.
• 2 years’ experience in law practice as a licensed attorney.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals.

Responsabilités

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi synchronous, virtual format via DMACC’s learning management system platform.
• Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
• Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
