Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Immigration Attorney to prepare and file employment-based immigration cases, including EB1, EB2-NIW, and RFEs. The role emphasizes complex legal work, client-focused service, and collaboration with a global mobility team.

Remote work is offered, but candidates must reside in Texas. The attorney will manage multiple cases, mentor paralegals, and stay current with evolving immigration laws and procedures to ensure successful outcomes for foreign national employees.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws from an accredited US law school.

Responsibilities

• Diligently prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters.
• Prepare immigrant/non-immigrant petitions with EB1, EB2-NIW, O-1 and RFEs.
• Manage projects and deadlines, and revise documents.
• Explain legal terminology to clients clearly and promptly.
• Research statutes and judicial decisions to address complex issues.
• Stay updated on immigration law changes and regulatory updates.
• Train clients and individuals on substantive topics and new laws.
• Collaborate with colleagues to handle client issues and projects.
• Communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding case progress and strategy.
• Assess eligibility of foreign national employees for visa status.
• Prepare petitions for DOL/USCIS submissions for non-immigrant and immigrant status.
• Supervise paralegal staff in record-keeping and document prep.
