Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Ignition SCADA Controls Engineer for remote work with travel for commissioning. The role focuses on design and development of Ignition-based SCADA/HMI systems for building automation and energy management in commercial/industrial environments, including data center projects.

Responsibilities include dashboards, system architecture, and integration with PLCs using BACnet/Modbus. This contract position is based out of Haskell, TX, with hybrid work options and travel as

Qualifications

• Hands-on Ignition SCADA/HMI development experience.
• Experience configuring Ignition gateways, projects, and modules.
• Proficiency in dashboards/graphics for HVAC and facility operations.
• Experience integrating control systems with PLCs, BACnet and Modbus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Ignition-based SCADA/HMI systems for BMS/EMP.
• Build custom dashboards, graphics, and UIs for HVAC/facility ops.
• Develop system architecture: tags, alarms, trends, navigation.
• Configure Ignition gateways, projects, and modules for reliability.
• Set up network communications between field devices, controllers, and servers.
• Integrate control systems with PLCs using BACnet/Modbus.
• Support data collection, visualization, and reporting on energy usage.
• Collaborate with internal teams on design, deployment, troubleshooting.
• Assist with remote commissioning and validation.
• Ensure scalable, standardized, user-friendly solutions.
