Job summary

SME Careers seeks an Icelandic Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Icelandic AI training projects in a remote contractor role. You will review AI-generated Icelandic content, evaluate output against rubrics, provide precise feedback, and ensure contributors follow standards.

Strong Icelandic and English, attention to detail, and remote team management are essential. Selection involves an AI interview, domain task, and recruiter interview.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Icelandic with strong reading and writing skills.
• Excellent English reading and writing to follow project guidelines.
• 3+ years of professional Icelandic language QA, translation, or related reviews.
• Strong Icelandic grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural context.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams is preferred.
• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Docs, trackers, dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring and spot-checks across Icelandic items.
• Provide ongoing feedback via DMs and escalate recurring issues.
• Communicate guidelines and updates to trainers and QAs.
• Respond clearly to Icelandic wording, grammar, and contextual questions.
• Create and maintain Icelandic project documentation and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls explaining expectations.
• Identify quality gaps and help build scalable QA processes.
• Ensure consistent application of Icelandic language guidelines.
