Job summary
Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a Software Developer with hands-on IBM iSeries RPG experience to modernize backend systems and expose data via APIs. The role focuses on DevOps practices, automated testing, and integrating legacy code with modern web applications.
The candidate will work remotely in a 6-month W2 contract, with typical hours 9am-5pm EST and a 40-50 USD hourly rate. Bachelor’s degree required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience bridging IBM iSeries backends and web environments.
- Experience with RPG programming languages (RPGLE/Free Format).
- Strong DB2 and SQL Server experience with large data sets.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SAFe is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Core Engineering & System Integration: design, code, and refactor RPG modules on IBM iSeries; manage DB2/SQL Server data.
- Web integration: expose legacy RPG logic via APIs and data pipelines.
- Process Modernization & Quality Assurance: write automated tests and build CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: participate in standups, align with SAFe, review code, and mentor peers.
