ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer with IBM iSeries (AS/400) and RPG expertise to support critical backend systems for a healthcare analytics and payment integrity organization. This remote contract role bridges IBM i backends with modern web architectures, focusing on modernization of RPG codebases and robust CI/CD pipelines.

You will work in Agile teams, implement automated testing, and expose high-volume DB2 datasets to web applications while maintaining reliability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.
• Proficiency with RPG language.
• Working knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server databases.
• 2–3+ years of experience with CI/CD, unit testing, refactoring, and code reviews.
• Understanding of SDLC with exposure to Agile/Scrum.
• Ability to work remotely.

This role focuses on bridging robust IBM i backends with modern web architectures. You will modernize RPG codebases using Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing while exposing high-volume DB2 datasets to web applications. The work ensures reliability of legacy systems while enabling the speed of modern digital healthcare solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience modernizing RPG codebases and exposing DB2 data to modern web or digital applications.
• Prior work supporting high-volume data systems in a healthcare, analytics, or payment integrity environment.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Background bridging legacy IBM i systems with modern architectures.
