Job summary

AttainX, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer II to support DHS/CISA on the Critical Infrastructure Collaboration Platform. The role defines, documents, and executes tests for applications and systems, collaborating with engineering teams to improve quality and reliability.

Qualifications include a BS in Engineering or CS and 3–5 years of test experience, with knowledge of test planning, automated testing, and DHS testing procedures. US citizenship and clearance eligibility are required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• 3–5 years of test engineering, software or systems testing, or QA.
• Experience defining test criteria and developing, executing, and analyzing tests.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, performance, and reliability testing.
• Ability to identify defects and recommend changes.
• Experience with test management, defect tracking, and automated testing tools.
• Familiarity with DHS/CISA procedures and Section 508 testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, and modifications.
• Develop test criteria based on operational requirements and key performance parameters; maintain traceability to requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Create and maintain test plans, cases, scripts, test data, and expected results to verify system integrity, functionality, and security.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and reliability testing; evaluate interfaces, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise integrations.
• Conduct developmental and operational testing in accordance with DHS Instruction Guide 026-06-001-01 and applicable cybersecurity testing procedures.
• Identify functional problems, document defects and supporting evidence, suggest resolutions, and verify corrective actions through retesting.
• Analyze test cases and results; provide feedback and recommendations for product, application, or design changes and Government acceptance.
• Define internal quality control standards and maintain reliability programs; track test coverage, defect trends, and performance against approved criteria.
• Ensure testing procedures meet applicable Federal, DHS/CISA, and industry-specific standards; coordinate security and accessibility testing with specialists.
• Validate migration, data integrity, rollback procedures, and operational continuity during transition from legacy to modernized systems.
• Use modeling and simulation, where appropriate, to evaluate system behavior, performance, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, data engineers, and operations teams during design reviews and agile delivery; improve testing and quality practices.
• Coordinate with vendors or suppliers, as needed, to develop or modify tests for components and integrated services.
• Maintain test documentation, results, and release readiness evidence; communicate risks and recommendations while protecting sensitive information, including Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII).
