Job summary

Block LLP in California is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Lien Negotiator to negotiate reductions of medical liens and balances tied to personal injury cases. You will communicate with medical providers, lienholders, and related parties to maximize net recoveries for clients.

This role offers flexibility to work remote, hybrid, or in-office at our Burbank location, with in‑person training during the first week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience handling lien reductions or medical bill negotiations within personal injury.
• Hands-on experience negotiating with medical providers and lienholders.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of files with accuracy and follow-up.
• Proficiency with computers, email, and case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Review medical liens, bills, and outstanding balances in personal injury cases.
• Negotiate reductions directly with medical providers, lienholders, and others.
• Advocate for favorable reductions to maximize client net recovery.
• Submit lien reduction requests with supporting documentation.
• Communicate with providers and lienholders by phone and email throughout the process.
• Obtain and confirm final reduced balances and payoff amounts.
• Identify discrepancies and work to resolve them.
• Maintain detailed documentation of negotiations and outcomes.
• Track lien reduction status and update internal teams.
• Collaborate with attorneys and case managers to obtain needed information.
• Maintain accurate records in the firm's case management system.
• Handle a high volume of lien files while meeting deadlines.
