Job summary

Block LLP is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Assistant to join our growing litigation team in Burbank, CA. This role supports attorneys through pleadings, discovery, filings, deadlines, client communication, and trial prep.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of paralegal experience or three+ years as a legal assistant, with strong CA civil procedure knowledge and excellent communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site position in our Burbank office.

Qualifications

• At least one year of paralegal experience or three or more years of legal assistant experience.
• Litigation experience and familiarity with California civil procedure, court filings, discovery, and calendaring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Must be able to work full-time and on-site at our Burbank office.

Responsibilities

• Draft, format, proofread, file, and serve pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Calendar and monitor court deadlines, hearings, depositions, medical examinations, and other important case dates.
• Assist attorneys with written discovery, document collection, medical records, exhibits, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, and other parties.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
• Update case information and activity in the firm’s case management system.
• Assist with scheduling depositions, client meetings, court appearances, and other case-related appointments.
• Provide clients with attentive, compassionate, and professional service.
• Support attorneys and the litigation team with additional tasks as needed.
