Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group seeks a Data Science Intern for an 11-week summer program in Arizona. You will work with our data science teams on AI/ML projects, supporting research and model validation efforts.

The internship runs May 24–August 6, 2027, with remote or hybrid work options from our Phoenix, AZ office. The hourly rate is $35.00–$39.00, reflecting your contributing role in real-world insurance analytics.

Qualifications

• Graduate student in a quantitative/analytical degree with Dec 2027 or May 2028 graduation.
• Undergraduate student in a quantitative/analytical degree with Dec 2027 or May 2028 graduation.
• Interest in data, statistics, or model validation.
• Experience manipulating raw data using SQL, Python, or R.
• Creative problem-solving and machine learning interest.
• Ability to analyze data or model results and communicate insights.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and present information clearly.
• Passion for learning concepts and continuous development.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data science teams and business leaders on research with high business impact.
• Advance understanding of customers through data science projects across the lifecycle.
• Provide recommendations based on well-documented analyses.
• Complete a capstone project on data or model analysis and present findings to senior management.
