Job summary

RSI EnTech, LLC in Chattanooga is seeking a cost estimator to join our team, supporting power and transmission projects. You will estimate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracts to produce accurate project costs and bids.

You will collaborate with engineering and planning, travel as needed, and contribute to data management and value engineering. A bachelor’s degree in a technical field and related estimating experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of cost estimating experience (ideally in the power/transmission field).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates for complex construction projects.
• Determines sequence of activities, equipment, overheads, quantities, and manpower.
• Researches industry methods and innovations to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitors estimate accuracy and updates methods to improve results.
• Participates in project walk-downs, value engineering, and lessons learned from previous projects.
• Critically reviews estimates prepared by others and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Develops/revises estimation data tools and maintains links to sources.
• Interfaces with engineering, planning, and construction personnel.
• Prepares reports such as trend analysis, comparisons, and benchmarking.
• Travels to corporate offices and project sites as needed.
