Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Communications Systems Designer to contribute to the design and documentation of building telecom and security systems. The role involves producing drawings, specs, and reports while coordinating with multiple teams on several projects.

The ideal candidate holds US citizenship, an active RCDD, at least 5 years of experience in building communications systems, and strong communication skills. A degree in Electrical Engineering and a PE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• BICSI RCDD is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of active communications systems for buildings is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (such as Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
• Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards required.
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28 is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills are required.
• HS Diploma, or equivalent is required.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers is required.
• Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering and related staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design of systems for building projects including telecommunications, electronic security, audio-visual systems, and related technologies
• Responsibilities include preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and review technical documents.
• Will be responsible for completing project assignments with minimal supervision as well as directing to support staff to complete a project
