Security Benefit is seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to join the Data Intelligence team. You will independently analyze data, develop reports and dashboards, document data requirements, and coordinate data quality across domains.

This hybrid role can be based in Topeka or remote for the right candidate. As part of the ELT architecture, you will bridge data platforms with business consumption layers and support retirement services, annuities, and investment businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in business data analysis, data reporting, or a closely related analytical role.
• Solid proficiency in data querying tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake) including writing queries, joins, aggregations, and data profiling techniques
• Experience developing reports and dashboards using business intelligence and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and ELT architecture patterns; cloud data platform environment preferred
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements including data flow diagrams, functional specifications, and source-to-target mappings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate data issues and communicate findings clearly
• Retirement services, annuities, mutual funds, or financial services industry experience preferred

Responsabilités

• Gather requirements, document data flows, and develop functional and data specifications.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Write and execute data queries against enterprise data platform; perform data profiling.
• Serve as liaison between business and technical teams to translate requirements.
• Coordinate data quality remediation with Data Engineering and ELT owners.
• Create data mapping documentation and source-to-target specifications.
• Support testing: test cases, UAT, defects, testing summaries.
• Maintain data governance documentation and participate in data stewardship.
• Contribute to process improvements.
