Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a hands-on Hardware Technician to support HPC compute, network, and storage hardware at the Memphis, TN site. This role is designated Remote/Teleworker, with on-site daily tasks during standard hours.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, solid mechanical aptitude, experience with hand tools, and familiarity with data-center hardware. You will work with ticketing systems, collaborate with teammates, and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HS graduate with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic tool handling.
• Experience with computer hardware and data centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repair and maintenance on HPC compute, network, and storage hardware.
• Review tickets for hardware actions needed and claim for action.
• Document actions in the ticket system and pass to next step.
• Complete training on specialized compute hardware, network and storage components.
• Read system documentation/diagrams to identify components within the system.
• Collaborate with team via face-to-face, phone, email, Teams, and Slack.
• Perform hardware actions, e.g. component replacement from spares.
• Operate hand and low-power tools (e.g. battery-powered screwdriver).
• Lift and move parts up to 50 lbs (75 lbs with assistance).
• Occasionally operate pallet jack to move inventory within site.
• Assist with system installation activities as needed.
• Interface with parts inventory manager if applicable.
• Experience with Motivair and Vertiv CDU is a plus.
