Conifer-Realt is seeking a Development Coordinator for an all-remote role focused on affordable housing across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. The position supports the development lifecycle from due diligence to occupancy, coordinating across teams and environments.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in planning, real estate development, or finance, with strong writing and presentation skills. Degree in business or planning is preferred; advanced tools like Dealpath and Yardi Voyager are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in planning, real estate development, or financial industry preferred.
• Affordable housing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Project management experience required; ability to create, develop projects through to completion.
• Strong writing and presentation skills for communicating with community leaders.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Dealpath and Yardi Voyager experience preferred.
• Strong math/finance aptitude; underwriting or budgeting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development activities across a pipeline of multi-state projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast from due diligence through to occupancy.
• Submit funding applications including LIHTC, FHLB, and other funding resources.
• Conduct project financial feasibility analysis and maintain project budgets.
• Assist VP of Development with local approvals and coordinate multi-state travel for approvals.
• Direct third-party design professionals (architects, engineers) and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Coordinate market studies, appraisals, and other studies; review contracts and billings.
• Assist in pre-syndication, equity, construction loan and permanent loan closings.
• Communicate development details with Construction, Property Management, Legal, Accounting and Insurance departments.
• Represent the owner at construction meetings and manage draws and change orders.
• Oversee final job cost preparation for 8609 issuance and regulatory filings.
