Job summary

STERIS seeks an Equipment Service Technician to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment for hospital customers in a remote-based role. You will work independently with team support, manage preventive maintenance, service calls, installations, and upgrade programs within the assigned territory.

The role requires 4+ years in a mechanical/technical field, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication and customer engagement skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work experience in a mechanical/technical role.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and credentialing requirements.
• Customer and team engagement experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Windows/email, navigation, mobile app, multi-system data input).
• Ability to meet flexible schedules with potential overnights and varied hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Prioritize customer and business needs and complete PMs, service calls, and installations.
• Collaborate with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to resolve issues and document troubleshooting steps.
• Provide customers with information, pricing and repair options; build relationships with Sales to drive customer experience and revenue opportunities.
• Provide support to various locations within assigned territory according to service agreements.
