Job summary

Confluent Health is seeking a detail-oriented Integration Specialist to support healthcare application integration across the organization. You will design, develop, test, and deploy HL7 and FHIR interfaces, ensuring seamless data exchange between EHRs, LIS, RIS, PMS, and other systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience with HL7 interface development and support.
• Hands‑on experience with FHIR APIs and RESTful services.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data formats.
• Familiarity with interface engines.
• Experience working with EHR systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and data privacy best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy HL7 and FHIR-based interfaces between clinical and operational systems.
• Support real-time and batch data exchanges using HL7 v2/v3, CDA, and FHIR.
• Monitor and maintain interface engines and troubleshoot data flow issues or interface failures.
• Collaborate with application owners, vendors, and project stakeholders to gather requirements and implement integration solutions.
• Analyze clinical workflows and advise on integration points to improve system interoperability.
• Maintain documentation on interface specifications, data mappings, and integration architecture.
• Assist in maintaining HIPAA, security policies, and healthcare IT standards.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing cycles, and validation of interface performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on healthcare interoperability standards.
